Housekeeping staff management app.

Collaborators: Astha Jain, Shairly Jain, and Aniket Bhardwaj

We studied the challenges faced by cleaning personnel and utilized our learnings to create a staff management software that will help housekeeping management run more efficiently and improve their working conditions.

Process

We acquired a thorough grasp of how our college's housekeeping services operate, as well as a list of the housekeeping staff's roles and responsibilities. Unstructured interviewing and roleplaying allowed us to better identify the staff's concerns and gain insights.

To acquire a better understanding of the cleaning staff's everyday routine, a roleplay was performed. In addition, shadowing was done and observations were gathered as a result.

Insights

Workflow Analysis

Workflow analysis was done to gather more information about the pain points and the possibility of reducing the number of steps through the new solution.

Application

The application was tested on the housekeeping staff and we got positive results and feedback.
The functions of the application help reduce the number of steps to complete a task, compared to the number of tasks without the intervention.
The simple interface of the application is really easy to understand.

The input from the cleaning employees also helped us define the application's future scope and how it may be developed to make the housekeeping staff's workflow more efficient.
